Crypto exchange Kraken has launched a promotion waiving futures trading fees for new eligible clients in the European Economic Area (EEA).

Under the offer, new futures traders will pay no taker fees on up to $10 million in trading volume and no maker fees during their first 30 days after enabling futures trading.

The promotion applies to clients opening Kraken Futures for the first time and covers more than 300 perpetual futures contracts. Kraken said users can trade with up to 10x leverage, subject to eligibility and regional restrictions.

The exchange said the offer is available to EEA clients and follows its recent authorisation under the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework through the Central Bank of Ireland. Kraken’s derivatives business in Europe continues to operate under a MiFID licence held through Cyprus.

Kraken completed its acquisition of U.S. futures broker NinjaTrader earlier this year, giving the company a regulated foothold in the U.S. futures market. The exchange has also expanded into prediction markets and recently integrated AI assistants, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok, into its trading ecosystem.
