Brokerage group and prime broker EXANTE announced the appointment of Robert Parker as its new Head of Risk, Financial Markets on Thursday afternoon.
Parker will work from the company’s office in London and will report to Zane Kotane, EXANTE’s Chief Operations Officer.
“I’m delighted to welcome Robert to the EXANTE team,” said Kotane. “Robert’s broad experience and leadership will be instrumental as we enhance our risk frameworks, support product innovation such as our options trading initiatives, and refine liquidity management processes.
“His appointment reflects our commitment to maintaining robust, forward-looking risk practices that support our long-term growth and deliver enhanced value to our clients.”
Experience hands at EXANTE
He brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started his career in the 1990s as an options market maker on the LIFFE trading floor.
Since then he has held risk management roles at BGC Partners, MF Global, and Deutsche Bank. He also worked for over a decade at Sberbank, including a stint as Chief Risk Officer, before sanctions forced the Russian bank to shutter its UK operations.
“Joining EXANTE at such an exciting stage in its journey is a tremendous opportunity,” said Parker. “I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to further strengthen the risk function, support innovation, and help drive sustainable growth in line with EXANTE’s strategic objectives.”
EXANTE has evolved a lot over the last decade. The company originally had more of a focus on the retail market but, although it still accepts individual clients, it has shifted a lot more into the institutional brokerage world.
The company says it’s catering more to wealth managers, banks, and fund managers today. The firm also has funds that it offers to investors as well. EXANTE opened a Dubai office in November of last year.
