Payments provider OpenFX has hired former LMAX executive Alex Rowles as its Head of Trading and Risk.
Rowles left LMAX at the end of 2024, having spent the prior seven years with the firm. He initially worked as the trading venue and liquidity provider’s Head of Trading but spent the final two years of his time at the firm as Commercial Director.
Since leaving the firm, Rowles has consulted for liquidity provider and systematic trading firm iSAM, as well as prime broking business STP Partners.
Prior to LMAX, Rowles held trading roles at quant firm G-Research and French investment bank Societe Generale.
OpenFX is a payments firm that provides services to PSPs and remittance payment companies. The firm also offers on-ramp and off-ramp solutions for stablecoins.
Rowles will be based in the company’s Dubai office, with the firm also having operations in the US and London.
