Japanese US stock app provider Woodstock K.K. launched Woodstock MCP last Thursday, a service that connects AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT to Woodstock brokerage accounts for market research, portfolio analysis, and natural-language order placement without requiring any programming.

The company says the product uses Model Context Protocol (MCP), a standard for linking AI assistants to external tools and data, to consolidate four steps, information gathering, analysis, decision-making, and execution, into a single conversational interface. The service is currently free.

Woodstock is attempting to turn third-party AI assistants into a front end for a live securities account. Users authenticate their Woodstock account from within their AI client, with no API work or code required.

The company’s own product page warns that, depending on the AI provider’s policy and the prompts entered, orders may be placed without prior individual confirmation. Users must agree to Woodstock’s Special Provisions Concerning MCP Agent Trading before using the service.

Woodstock is registered as a Financial Instruments Intermediary Service Provider with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau. AlpacaJapan Co., Ltd. serves as the affiliated Financial Instruments Business Operator behind account and order flow.

The company says it plans to build a prompt knowledge base covering research, trading and rebalancing for its user base.
