Broker executive Omar Al-Janabi has joined Monaxa as the company’s CEO for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Al-Janabi joins the firm from TopFX, where he was Global Head of Sales and Business Development.

He worked at TopFX for just over four years, having spent the prior three years at Tickmill.

At Tickmill, Al-Janabi was originally an Account Manager but was promoted to become MENA Partnership Manager.

The new Monaxa MENA CEO started his career in online trading just over a decade ago at broker XM in a customer support role. He has also held roles at Swiss Markets and FXPRIMUS.

It was at the latter firm that Al-Janabi worked with Monaxa’s CEO Chris Trikomitis.

Monaxa has an entity in Anguilla, where there is no regulation covering CFDs, and a license in Mauritius.

The broker appears to be focusing primarily on East Asia. Trikomitis has been based in the region for about a decade and was FXPRIMUS’s APAC CEO for over six years.
