Following several quarters of significant growth across the African continent, ATFX Group officially announces the appointment of Dany Mawas, CEO & Co-Founder of L7 Prime, as the new CEO Africa for ATFX.
The decision follows the remarkable commercial success and expansion generated through the strategic partnership between L7 Prime and ATFX Connect, which helped accelerate ATFX’s growth across Africa through localised execution, B2B liquidity distribution, infrastructure deployment, White Label expansion, payment orchestration solutions, and institutional partnerships.
To discuss the announcement and the vision behind this unique strategic move, TradeInformer sat down with Siju Daniel (CCO, ATFX Group), Wei Qiang Zhang (CEO, ATFX Connect), and Dany Mawas (CEO & Co-Founder, L7 Prime).
David (TradeInformer):
Siju, this is a major announcement for ATFX Group. Why was Dany the right choice to lead Africa?
Siju Daniel (CCO, ATFX Group):
The answer is simple: results.
Over the past quarters, the partnership between L7 Prime and ATFX Connect generated tremendous momentum for ATFX across Africa, starting with South Africa. We saw strong and swift business growth, new regional partnerships burgeoning, increased brand visibility, and a much deeper penetration into local markets.
What stood out was Dany’s leadership style and his team’s understanding of the African landscape. Africa is not a straightforward market, as most know. It requires localisation, deep market knowledge, strong relationship-building skills, adaptability, and operational speed. Dany and the L7 team consistently demonstrated all of that.
For us, this became the most logical strategic decision. We wanted leadership that already understood the realities on the ground and had already proven it could execute successfully.
David (TradeInformer):
Wei, from the ATFX Connect side, how important was L7 Prime’s contribution to ATFX’s growth in the region?
Wei Qiang Zhang (CEO, ATFX Connect):
Extremely important.
The growth we experienced in Africa over recent quarters was heavily supported by the work done together with L7 Prime. Their teams helped bridge the gap between our Tier 1 institutional infrastructure and local market execution.
Africa is unique because every country operates differently, from liquidity distribution, payments and onboarding behaviors to partnerships and client acquisition models. Dany and his team understood those nuances extremely well.
What impressed us most was their ability to move fast while still maintaining structure and long-term vision. Whether it was White Label expansion, liquidity distribution, payment orchestration, or strategic relationships, L7 consistently delivered value.
This appointment reflects the confidence ATFX Group has in both Dany and the broader L7 ecosystem.
David (TradeInformer):
Dany, we know each other for a while, what does this appointment really mean to you personally?
Dany Mawas (CEO & Co-Founder, L7 Prime):
Well, firstly it’s a huge honor, but also a natural continuation of the journey we have already been building together for so many years. I have known Joe, Wei, and Siju for more than a decade, and it’s cool to finally get to work together on both B2C & B2B business lines of ATFX.
Additionally, the relationship between L7 Prime and ATFX Connect has never felt like a traditional partnership. We have always been deeply aligned from the beginning: operationally, strategically, and commercially.
Together, we built B2B tech & liquidity infrastructure that actually works for Africa. Definitely not copied strategies from other regions, but systems adapted to the realities of local brokers, props, affiliates, and retail traders.
I believe the success we achieved over the past quarters proved one thing clearly: Africa needs local leadership backed by global infrastructure.
That’s exactly what this new chapter represents. Localised expertise, backed by global excellence.
David (TradeInformer):
Why is local understanding so critical for brokers wanting to succeed in Africa?
Dany Mawas:
Because Africa rewards local relevance.
Retail traders today are sophisticated. Brokers can no longer rely purely on bonuses or generic marketing campaigns. Success comes from understanding local behavior and regulatory requirements, supporting the right payment methods, creating educational ecosystems, building trust, and responding quickly to market changes.
That’s what L7 Prime focused on from day one.
We didn’t just help launch brokerages, we built ecosystems around them:
· White Label infrastructure
· ATFX Connect Tier-1 liquidity
· Payments orchestration
· KYC & AML integrations
· Community enablement & growth solutions
· Front-end and mobile trading experiences
· Risk management & bridge infrastructure
When I combine that with ATFX’s global strength and institutional backing, you create something very powerful for the African market.
David (TradeInformer):
What can the industry expect next from ATFX Africa under this new leadership structure?
Wei Qiang Zhang:
Expansion and Business Creativity.
We want to continue investing heavily into Africa because we believe it will become one of the most important retail trading regions globally over the next decade.
With Dany leading Africa, ATFX is positioning itself closer to the market than ever before. Expect stronger localisation, more local products, more partnerships, improved infrastructure, better payment experiences, and deeper engagement with regional communities.
Dany Mawas:
The objective is clear: build the strongest trading ecosystem in Africa. B2B & B2C.
We want brokers, props, asset managers, partners, and retail traders to feel that ATFX understands the continent not from a distance, but from within.
This is only the beginning. You will see.
David (TradeInformer):
Siju, final question: what message does this appointment send to the industry about ATFX’s ambitions in Africa?
Siju Daniel (CCO, ATFX Group):
It sends a very clear message: ATFX is fully committed to Africa.
We don’t see Africa as an “emerging opportunity” anymore, we see it as one of the future pillars of global retail trading growth. And if you want to succeed in Africa, you need more than a global brand. You need leadership that understands the people, the business culture, the operational challenges, and the pace of the market.
Dany and the L7 Prime team already proved they could deliver exceptional growth for ATFX consistently. They built strong relationships, executed quickly, and consistently brought innovative solutions to the table. This appointment is simply the formalisation of a partnership and leadership structure that was already producing outstanding results.
We’re excited for what comes next.
