Nasdaq-listed digital infrastructure company AVAX One Technology Ltd said on Tuesday it has launched an AI inference pilot at its existing Redwater, Alberta facility, testing the conversion of about 100 kW of excess Bitcoin mining capacity into AI workloads. Management expects the pilot to go live within 12 weeks.

The company said preliminary economic assessments prepared with its advisors indicate AI inference could generate several times Bitcoin mining’s gross revenue per kilowatt-hour when fully utilized. Any idle capacity will revert to Bitcoin mining, keeping power utilization constant while demand is validated.

“This pilot answers a simple question with real customers and real workloads: how much more can our power earn serving AI than mining Bitcoin?” said Jolie Kahn, CEO of AVAX One.

The deployment is being implemented with the company’s infrastructure development partner, with continuing due diligence conducted through a retained engineering firm. AVAX One previously identified BlueFlare Energy Solutions in that role.

The company said results from the 100 kW pilot will inform configuration and commercialization of its previously announced 10 MW Tier 3-ready AI/HPC facility in Alberta, targeted for client readiness in Q1 2027.
