ATFX hits $643bn in trading volume for Q4 2024

Brokerage group ATFX hit $643bn in trading volume in the final three months of 2024, the company revealed on Wednesday. The figure puts the brokerage group in the top 7 brokers globally, in terms of trading volume.

In a statement, ATFX said that the figure captured trading which was undertaken with the firm across both its MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 offerings.

Higher volumes were recorded across asset classes, with some rising more than others.

ATFX said that trading volumes in precious metals were up 32.7% in the final quarter of 2024, compared to the final quarter of 2023. This fits with a wider surge in gold trading demand that we’ve seen globally over the last few years.

Index trading also increased substantially, with ATFX traders growing volumes in indices by 62.1% year on year in the final quarter of 2024.

Interestingly, stock trading also saw a huge increase but on a quarter on quarter basis. Trading in equities on ATFX rose almost 400% in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to the third, likely reflecting a surge in the market after Donal Trump was elected.

Crypto trading was up 8.5% year on year too, again probably in part because of Trump’s election and his more pro-crypto stance.

“ATFX’s ability to navigate market fluctuations highlights its commitment to providing a seamless trading experience,” said the broker in a statement. “Amid shifting economic policies and geopolitical events, the company’s cutting-edge technology and liquidity solutions helped traders capitalize on emerging opportunities.”
