Retail broker Axi announced on Monday that its Chief Commercial Officer will step down from his role at the end of September.

Louis Cooper is one of the broker’s shareholders and has been with the company for close to a decade.

Along with CEO Rajesh Yohannan and Chief Operating Officer Gavin Ward, he was a core part of the team that bought out the firm in 2022 and is consequently a shareholder in the business.

“Louis has played an integral role in building Axi into the global brand it is today,” said Yohannan. “While we will miss him, we are immensely grateful for his contributions and pleased that he will remain connected to Axi as a shareholder and ongoing supporter of our mission.”

Cooper has worked in the online trading industry for almost three decades.

He started out at CMC Markets back in 1999 and worked for the brokerage group for over 13 years, working as the group’s Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

After leaving the company in 2012, he went on to work at OANDA – also as Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

He spent two years in that role, working alongside fellow Axi shareholders Yohannan and Ward. He then moved to Axi in 2016 and has worked at the broker since then.

“It has been a privilege to be part of Axi’s remarkable journey,” said Cooper. “I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. I leave knowing that Axi is in strong, capable hands, and I have absolute confidence in the Executive and Senior Management Team to take the company forward to even greater heights.”
