Brokerage group ThinkMarkets has hired Carlos Cadavid as its Head of Latin America (LATAM).
Cadavid joins the broker from rival firm Eightcap, where he spent the last four years as Commercial Director for LATAM.
Prior to joining Eightcap, Cadavid was the co-founder of Core Liquidity Markets, a retail CFD broker. He ran the firm for over a decade.
Cadavid also had stints at several other brokers, including Divisa – which now operates as Equiti – and Alpari.
LATAM has become a major hotspot for brokers over the past few years.
Companies like Exness and XM have made a big push across the region, with a focus on countries like Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina.
Over the last month or so, we’ve seen Plus500, CFI, and Libertex brand LBX all get licenses in Colombia.
And during the last two years, Pepperstone and XTB have both acquired a license in Chile. Plus500 is also looking to acquire one in the country.
