A former Miss Thailand, who has been the cause of huge problems in the Thai CFD industry over the last week, lost over $500,000 trading with Vantage last month.

Petch Teeyapar posted that she lost “21 million [Thai Baht]” to Vantage on May 12th.

“I’m done with this life,” she said. “Thank you to all the people who love and support me.”

TradeInformer understands that after this post, Teeyapar began to coax her boyfriend, who is a senior figure in the Thai government, to begin cracking down on CFD brokers.

She has also gone on a media blitz, claiming that her losses were due to brokers manipulating her accounts. In reality, it seems she just lost money from trading badly.

Posting several times per day about the case, and also holding a press conference to discuss it, she has managed to secure a large amount of media coverage as a result.

The Department of Special Investigation, which is similar to the FBI, is now involved in the case.

Most Thai traders do not seem to be sympathetic to her cause and largely blame her for simply losing money by trading her own account.

The most popular response to one of her many recent posts about trading simply states “Do you know how to set a stop loss? We can practice.”

Two brokers with activities in Thailand also said that Teeyapar simply lost money from her own trading activity and decided to take revenge.

Despite her fears about losing money, Teeyapar was still posting results from her MetaTrader 5 account as recently as last week. She was in profit.
