Crypto exchange operator and trading platform Crypto.com announced on Tuesday that it is partnering with Tawasal Al Khaleej, a tech company based in the UAE.
In a statement, Crypto.com said that the agreement between the two companies had two components.
The first is that Tawasal will get its partners in the wider Middle East region to refer clients to Crypto.com. The company did not go into specifics as to what that means in practise or who those partners are.
For the second part of the deal, Crypto.com’s services will be integrated into the Tawasal ‘super app’, which currently has more than 4m users.
The app is similar to the sorts of super apps you see in Asia, like WeChat or Line. Alongside messaging functionality, you can also access news feeds, stock trading, and mobile games.
“We’re eager to join forces with Crypto.com and seamlessly integrate their innovative products and services into our cutting-edge tech projects,” said Tawasal CEO Eric Leandri.
“By combining their services and digital assets with our blockchain technologies we’re reaffirming our commitment to delivering, safe, interactive, and easy to use digital experiences to our customers. In return, Tawasal SuperApp, is poised to provide Crypto.com with unparalleled visibility and expose their financial products to the local market, further expanding their reach and presence.”
