Exclusive: Angus Walker joins IC Markets in Dubai as Global Head of Trading

TradeInformer understands that brokerage executive Angus Walker has rejoined IC Markets as the company’s Global Head of Trading.

Walker has relocated from Australia to join the company in its Dubai office.

IC Markets is currently expanding its operations in the United Arab Emirates, with the company owner Andrew Budzinski also relocating to Dubai.

As noted in a recent TradeInformer newsletter, it increasingly seems as though Dubai is the centre of the online trading industry.

Regulatory pressure is making it more and more difficult to attract clients in the European Union. In contrast, the UAE regulators are friendlier to the industry. Moreover, the Gulf state is a good location for firms that have are doing business in Africa, MENA, and Asia to oversee their operations.

Walker is joining IC Markets from rival firm Argamon, the institutional arm of AfterPrime. He has been with the firm since 2019.

Prior to joining what was then Global Prime, Walker spent close to a decade with IC Markets. He held various roles at the firm, including working as a Director in the group’s Australian entity and as Head of Trading Desk.
