HFM hires Samer Alkhaldi as MENA head

Cyprus-based brokerage group HFM has appointed Samer Alkhaldi as Regional Head of Business Development for MENA.

TradeInformer reported that Alkhaldi had left his prior role at Tickmill at the start of September.

He was with Tickmill for close to a decade and was responsible for building up a lot of its growth and business development efforts in the MENA region.

“I am very happy to announce my new role with the Prestigious Brokerage Group HFM [sic] as Regional Head of Business Developments For MENA!” said Alkhaldi on social media.

“I look Forward to working with all of all of you towards enhancing HFM presence both regionally and globally.”

Like other firms in the online trading industry, HFM has pivoted over the last few years to focus heavily on emerging markets. However, it also does a lot of business in Japan, via an entity in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The company’s focus does appear to be on Asia, so it’s likely Alkhaldi has been brought in to expand the firm’s MENA footprint.
