Ian Fuller joins options trading start up Investa as CTO

Tech executive Ian Fuller has joined start up Investa as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Fuller was previously CTO at commission-free broker Freetrade and Runa, a payments company.

Investa is a UK-based start-up focused on the options trading market. The company is yet to launch its product but has a large waitlist.

Options trading has become extremely popular in the last five years in the US and India. In the former, Robinhood and tastytrade pioneered a model of making the product easier and cheaper to access.

That has transferred over to the UK, where we have seen multiple companies launching an options offering.

For example, Webull has launched the product for UK clients and Robinhood is in the process of doing so. IG Group also launched its options offering this month properly.

CMC Markets has also developed an options product but it is a CFD on the underlying contract, rather than an exchange-traded product. Plus500 and Spreadex have also started to offer a similar product.
