Banking and financial technology company Revolut announced on Thursday that it is sponsoring Manchester City women’s football team.

This marks Revolut’s first foray into women’s football. The company has sponsored sports teams in the past, including Danish football club FC Copenhagen.

The agreement will see Revolut branding on the Man City training kit sleeve. Club captain Alex Greenwood will also be a brand ambassador for the banking group.

Revolut also gets a number of other benefits, including a ‘stadium takeover’ when Man City play Chelsea in March of this year. The bank will also get digital exposure via Man City’s social channels.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Manchester City Women,” said Deborah Wajsbrot, Revolut’s Head of Growth – Strategic Partnerships & Sponsorships. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to innovation, excellence and breaking boundaries – values that resonate deeply with both the Club’s fans and our users.”

Revolut has seen exceptional growth over the last few years and has become the first major ‘neobank’ to have started turning large, regular profits. The company reported net income of $428m in 2023, with topline revenue nearly doubling year-on-year to $2.2bn.
