Maria Shenouda is leaving her Associate Director role at brokerage group StoneX.

Shenouda has been with the US-headquartered firm for almost six years, working from its office in Dubai.

StoneX owns both the City Index and FOREX.com retail broker brands. The company appears to make use of the latter brand more when targeting clients in the Middle East and other emerging markets.

Shenouda joined StoneX as a Senior Relationship Manager in 2019 and worked with the broker’s high net worth book of clients.

Prior to working at StoneX, she spent almost two years at rival firm Swissquote as a Relationship Manager. That was also in Dubai.

Swissquote was the first CFD broker that Shenouda worked at. Prior to this, she held roles at different banks, including HSBC and Barclays.

Dubai has emerged as a major hotspot for the retail trading industry, both as a base of operations for brokers and as a hub to target both the local market and wider region.
