XM Co-Founder Costas Cleanthous has donated €10m to established a children’s oncology centre in Cyprus.
The agreement to establish the new centre was unveiled over the weekend, with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides in attendance and giving a speech.
The Cleanthous Paediatric Oncology Centre will be based in Nicosia and provide a centre for children suffering from cancer.
The new centre will be connected to the Archbishop Makarios III Hospital and have modern facilities, designed to provide top-tier care and a comfortable environment for patients and their families.
Cleanthous made the donation via the Cleanthous Foundation, a charitable organisation he established in 2023, having previously made such donations privately.
The foundation has made other donations to several individuals and organisations.
That includes providing funds to refurbish a primary school in Limassol, as well as donations to the Red Cross. The foundation has also paid for the schooling of Constantinos Stathelakos’s children.
Stathelakos was a Cypriot athlete, who represented the country at the Olympic Games. He died in a car accident in South Africa in 2024.
