Rostro Group, the owner of brands Scope Markets and Scope Prime, announced on Monday that they will donate €100,000 to support ongoing efforts to combat the ongoing wildfires in Cyprus.
The funds Rostro Group is donating will be used to support people impacted by the fires, as well as regenerating the areas that have been affected by the wildfires.
Rostro brand Scope Markets has had a physical presence in Cyprus for over a decade. Local employees are being given time off this week to volunteer for community and environmental organisations.
“Cyprus is more than just the home of our operations, it is the home of so many of our people,” said Constantinos Shakallis, CEO of Scope Markets Cyprus.
“This is deeply personal for us, as many of our colleagues, friends and families live in the affected areas. In times like these, it is essential that we stand by our local communities. Supporting this cause is not just the right thing to do, it is the necessary thing to do.”
Rostro Foundation to provide the support for Cyprus
The donation that Rostro Group is providing will be given via the Rostro Foundation, the charitable arm of the company.
Rostro Foundation has already given money in the past to organisations like Great Ormond Street Hospital, a children’s hospital based in London.
The donation in Cyprus will be given to local NGOs and authorities, with more details to be released at a later date.
“This crisis has affected communities and landscapes at the heart of Cyprus,” said Rostro Group owner Roger Hambury. “As a company deeply connected to the island, we feel a strong responsibility to contribute meaningfully. Alongside the Rostro Foundation, we aim to support both immediate relief efforts and sustainable recovery. We encourage others in the business community and beyond, to contribute in any way they are able.”
