Tony Sharpe is set to leave Trade Nation after spending almost three years at the London-based broker as Chief Strategy Officer.

TradeInformer understands that Sharpe plans on launching his own venture in the near future.

He joined Trade Nation in early 2023, having worked alongside the broker’s then CEO Stuart Lane in prior roles at Sporting Index and iFX Markets in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Prior to Trade Nation, Sharpe spent almost seven years at Hantec Markets, another retail broker.

He has also held senior roles a number of other firms, including GKFX, Trading 212, and ODL Securities.

Trade Nation has undergone a couple of big changes in the last 12 months.

Lane, who had been with the firm for over a decade, stepped down from his role as CEO.

IG Group’s ex-Chief Operating Officer, Jon Noble, has since replaced him. The broker also set up an office in Portugal and has been hiring across a number of other senior positions.

Trade Nation was founded just over a decade ago by entrepreneur Jasper White, who still owns the large majority of the business.

Executives Kevin Taylor, James Lester, and Matthew Wright also own shares in the business.
