The UK entity of brokerage group Robinhood announced on Monday that it has launched futures trading products.

Clients in the UK can now access trading in more than 40 CME futures products. That includes gold and index products. Retail customers in the UK are currently prohibited from trading crypto derivatives, so this will presumably mean Robinhood does not offer futures on those.

Fees for the products will be set at $0.75 per contract, with no additional fees for live market data.

Robinhood currently provides UK customers access to stocks, options, and margin trading on stocks.

There are very few platforms that offer futures trading in the UK. This is probably because CFDs offer many of the same benefits that futures do.

“In the UK, futures trading has traditionally been seen as the preserve of institutional investors, with limited resources to help retail traders get started,” said Jordan Sinclair, President, Robinhood UK.

“Today, we start changing that. We’re introducing futures trading in the UK with an intuitive mobile experience, smarter tools, education and insights and some of the lowest fees in the industry.”
