Deriv MT5 adds stock CFDs and extends US trading hours

Deriv has expanded its stock CFDs on the MT5 platform, adding 400 global equities for regular-session trading and introducing extended hours trading on 21 major US stocks.

The new listings cover a broad range of sectors and regions, giving clients more scope for portfolio diversification during standard market hours.

Alongside this, selected US stocks can now be traded outside traditional session times on weekdays, with a 30-minute daily maintenance pause.

The extended schedule is intended to accommodate traders in different time zones and allow them to respond to earnings releases and other market-moving events that occur after the closing bell.

Aggelos Armenatzoglou, Deriv’s Head of Dealing, said the additions address long-standing requests from clients for wider coverage and more flexible trading windows.

He said: “Traders have been saying the same thing for years. Coverage is too narrow and access
is too tied to the clock. Our answer is to widen the opportunity set by offering extended
trading hours for selected popular stocks.”

He noted that the extended hours allow users “to take positions at times that suit them best” rather than being limited to conventional trading sessions.

According to the company, the changes align with a broader strategy to increase accessibility without introducing additional complexity.

On Deriv MT5, users will continue to have access to advanced charting tools, fast execution, multiple order types, and multilingual support, with pricing and account structures remaining unchanged for the newly added instruments.

Armenatzoglou said the expansion reflects the firm’s intention to prepare for a more flexible and globally connected trading environment: “More markets, more hours, and more ways to participate, so traders can pursue opportunities on their own terms.”

A complete list of available symbols and detailed trading hours, including the daily maintenance period and daylight saving adjustments, is available in Deriv’s trading specifications.
