IG Group has appointed Behrouz Bayat as Director of Group Technology Strategy & Ventures.
Bayat joined the broker from his role as Chief Information and Technology Officer at Capital.com in September, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Bayat had worked at Capital.com since late 2022, when he joined the broker after working for several years in the mobile gaming sector.
He was previously a Senior Director at Sweden based mobile gaming developer King Games, best known for creating Candy Crush.
The appointment comes as IG Group announced this morning it is is “progressing well” in its search for a new chair of its board.
The broker revealed in September that Mike McTighe, its current chair, plans to retire. He plans to remain in the role until a successor is found.
In September, IG Group noted that it had set up a “new divisional leadership team” to manage its US business and accelerate its growth in the market.
It said the new team will “play an increasingly important role in the Group’s future expansion”.
