Emirates Coin Investment LLC (EmCoin), a virtual asset trading platform licensed by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Crypto.com to explore collaboration on digital asset trading services.

Under the MoU, and subject to regulatory approvals, the two companies will assess possible technical and commercial integrations aimed at improving how EmCoin users access and trade digital assets.

The discussions include leveraging Crypto.com’s liquidity and infrastructure to enhance trade execution and expand the range of cryptocurrencies available to EmCoin users, potentially at tighter spreads.

The companies said the initiative is intended to simplify access to digital asset markets while operating within applicable regulatory frameworks.

Crypto.com described the collaboration as consistent with its approach of working with regulated platforms, including EmCoin, which is licensed by the SCA.

As part of the cooperation, Crypto.com will also explore supporting the tokenisation of EmCoin’s real-world assets, using its own technology and that of its partners, such as the Cronos EVM chain, subject to regulatory requirements.

Both firms said security, regulatory compliance, and user protection would be central considerations in any future developments arising from the MoU.

The partnership comes as the UAE continues to position itself as a regional hub for regulated digital finance. By combining EmCoin’s multi-asset platform with Crypto.com’s global scale and technology, the companies aim to support broader adoption of digital assets with an emphasis on transparency and trust.

“Our focus is on making digital asset holdings easier to access, manage, and move – without compromising on security and user protection,” said Yasin Arafat, Chief Operations Officer at EmCoin.

He added that working with Crypto.com would help support larger trade volumes through enhanced liquidity.

Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com, said: “Making it easier for people to interact with digital assets in a regulated and safe environment is at the core of everything we do.”

Alain Yacine, President of Middle East and Latin America at Crypto.com, said the collaboration reflects a shared focus on simplifying engagement with digital assets in the region.

EmCoin is licensed by the SCA to provide regulated virtual asset services in the UAE and offers access to virtual assets alongside other asset classes, including foreign exchange, equities, exchange-traded funds, and commodities.

Crypto.com, founded in 2016, operates globally and provides cryptocurrency-related services to millions of users worldwide under various regulatory regimes.
