Market maker Flow Traders named former Société Générale executive Frank Drouet as Chief Executive Officer Asia-Pacific on Monday, effective immediately, with a seat on the company’s Executive Committee as the firm expands in the region and deepens its China markets activity.

The company also appointed Fabian Rijlaarsdam as Chief Operating Officer APAC and Ken Han as Chief Commercial Officer APAC.

Flow Traders said Drouet will lead regional expansion, strengthen operations and enhance commercial and counterparty relationships across APAC. In practical terms, the company is adding dedicated senior ownership over trading operations and client coverage as it builds out a region it has identified as a growth priority, including recently launched operations to actively trade China markets.

The three-hire structure, covering executive leadership, operations and commercial coverage, suggests Flow Traders is treating APAC as a standalone franchise rather than an extension of its global trading desk.

Flow Traders’ 2025 results show Asia revenue of €122.0 million for the full year, up from €111.6 million in 2024, though fourth-quarter Asia revenue fell to €23.9 million from €53.9 million a year earlier. The mix points to a region that is meaningful but uneven, making dedicated regional leadership more defensible.

Drouet’s background

Drouet spent years at Société Générale, where he served as Head of Global Markets with oversight of sales leadership, commercial development and client coverage across asset classes and geographies. Drouet’s background in sales leadership and client coverage aligns with the mandate Flow Traders has set out in APAC.

Flow Traders completed a broader leadership transition in 2025, welcoming Thomas Spitz as CEO and adding Co-Chief Trading Officers. The company said it expects fixed operating expenses of €220-230 million in 2026, driven by technology investments and talent additions to support growth initiatives.
