Brokerage firm Change announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a MiCA license in the Netherlands.
The approval allows the firm to offer a range of cryptocurrency trading services to clients across the European Union.
Previously the company operated with approvals from the Estonian regulator.
Change is a neobroker that was launched under a rebrand in 2016.
The company was part of a wave of firms to offer an ‘all in one app’ that primarily marketed itself as a place to invest in stocks commission-free.
Today the company gives users access to physical crypto, stocks, and CFD trading.
In 2023, the company’s founder Kristjan Kangro sold a majority stake in the firm to Andromeda Capital Partners Suisse – a private equity firm run by Ingmar Mattus, one of the founders of Tickmill.
“There are still relatively few firms in Europe that combine both an investment firm license and a MiCA authorization under the same regulator,” said Mattus. “We believe this dual regulatory foundation is a strong differentiator — strengthening trust, broadening our capabilities, and positioning Change well for the next phase of growth.”
