The Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Wednesday named enforcement and litigation lawyer Raagnee Beri as director of its Whistleblower Office.

The office administers the CFTC’s whistleblower program, which pays awards for original information that leads to successful enforcement actions and provides anti-retaliation protections for tipsters. Eligible awards range from 10% to 30% of collected sanctions.

Beri joins from the CFTC’s own ranks. She previously served as a trial attorney in the Division of Enforcement and then as a senior assistant general counsel in the Litigation Branch of the Office of the General Counsel, where she handled whistleblower appeal litigation. Before the CFTC, she was a trial attorney at the Department of Justice Tax Division.

“The Whistleblower Office plays an important role in supporting the Commission’s enforcement program. Raagnee is the right person to help lead that office and continue to promote its efficacy,” said Chairman Michael S. Selig.

As of December 2025, the CFTC said it had awarded more than $395 million to whistleblowers since 2014, tied to enforcement actions that produced over $3.3 billion in monetary sanctions.

The appointment follows broader leadership moves at the agency. Former Whistleblower Office director Brian Young was moved to Director of Enforcement in February 2025, and Tyler Badgley was named General Counsel in January 2026.
