German exchange operator Deutsche Börse said shareholders on Wednesday elected former Deutsche Telekom executive Claudia Nemat to its Supervisory Board, replacing Shannon Johnston, who resigned at the close of the Annual General Meeting.

The 57-year-old physicist was elected under agenda item 6 of the virtual AGM. The Supervisory Board has 16 members in total, the company said.

Nemat led the Technology and Innovation division on Deutsche Telekom’s Executive Board until the end of 2025. Before that, she ran the company’s European operations as CEO. She began her career at McKinsey & Company, where she rose to senior partner and Co-Lead of Consulting in the global technology sector.

Nemat’s background includes senior roles in technology and innovation at Deutsche Telekom.

Nemat has been a member of the Board of Directors at Swiss technology company ABB Ltd. since last year and was recently appointed to the Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG. She previously held supervisory board seats at Airbus SE from 2016 to 2025 and Lanxess AG from 2013 to 2016.
