Ontario Securities Commission CEO Grant Vingoe was elected Vice-Chair of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) for the 2026–2028 term, the OSC announced on Wednesday.

The election took place during IOSCO’s annual meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. IOSCO is an international policy forum for securities regulators whose members regulate more than 95% of the world’s securities markets across more than 130 jurisdictions.

In the role, Vingoe will support IOSCO Chair Jean-Paul Servais and work with regulators on priorities including market integrity, financial innovation, cross-border cooperation and systemic risk.

He will serve alongside Toshiyuki Miyoshi of Japan’s Financial Services Agency, SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda and Dr. Islam Azzam, Executive Chairman of Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority.

“In this environment of rapid change, geopolitical uncertainty and diverse regulatory approaches, IOSCO’s role as a global standard setter is crucial,” Vingoe said.

The IOSCO vice-chair role runs concurrently with Vingoe’s OSC CEO term, which the OSC board previously extended through December 31, 2029. He was first appointed as the commission’s first dedicated CEO in April 2022.
