European securities regulator ESMA on Thursday published an updated list of data contributors to the equity Consolidated Tape Provider (CTP), according to a new library entry on its website.

The document, reference ESMA74-276584410-11027, is ESMA’s public record of which investment firms and market operators are mandated to contribute data to the equity CTP for shares and ETFs, which are not obliged but can opt in, and which have opted in. The list is published under Article 22a(4) of MiFIR.

ESMA noted a caveat on data quality: the list is compiled from information reported by investment firms and trading venues, and the regulator “has to rely on the reporting entities in respect of the completeness and accuracy of the submitted data.” Delays in reporting can affect the published information, ESMA said.

CTPs collect market data from trading venues and approved publication arrangements and consolidate it into a live stream available to the public. ESMA’s CTP framework covers bonds, equity, and OTC derivatives, though this update concerns only the equity tape.

ESMA first published the equity contributor list in July 2025, shortly after launching the CTP selection process in June 2025. In December 2025, ESMA selected EuroCTP, a Netherlands-based joint venture backed by 15 European exchange groups, to operate the first consolidated tape for shares and ETFs.
