Global advisory and broking group WTW announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Redefind, a web-based crypto insurance platform, and is launching a UK-focused digital asset recovery and insurance service through Willis.

The service is a non-custodial, cost-of-recovery insurance solution for digital asset owners facing theft or loss. Coverage supports expenses tied to forensic investigation, asset tracing, and legal recovery of stolen digital assets.

Redefind’s platform uses cryptographic proof of ownership to make previously hard-to-insure digital assets insurable across different custody arrangements.

Redefind founders Richard Daws and Connor Edward joined Willis on completion of the deal. The business will sit within WTW’s Affinity practice.

“We are delighted to have acquired Redefind and welcome its founders to WTW,” said Anthony Borgman, head of GB Affinity at Willis. “Under Richard’s stewardship, the business will continue to evolve with support from WTW’s Affinity practice and for wider distribution.”

WTW said the service will initially launch in the UK, with broader market and product expansion planned. The company framed the acquisition as part of its long-term strategy to expand into protection solutions for clients exposed to digital finance and tokenised asset environments.
