Andrew McCormick is stepping down from his role as Head of eToro US, marking the conclusion of a four-and-a-half-year tenure at the global social investing network.
McCormick originally joined eToro in January 2022 as US Senior Counsel. In this capacity, he was tasked with navigating a complex regulatory landscape, enthusiastically managing diverse legal matters spanning both traditional finance and cryptocurrency offerings for the firm’s expanding US division.
In August 2024, McCormick was elevated to the position of Head of eToro US. During his nearly two years at the helm, he spearheaded the US team’s strategic efforts to build and scale an innovative, customer-friendly investing platform, focusing on providing retail investors with accessible avenues into both modern digital assets and traditional markets.
McCormick brought deep regulatory and enforcement experience to eToro following lengthy tenures at Morgan Stanley and E*TRADE.
Before his time at eToro, McCormick built a robust background in legal, enforcement, and regulatory affairs within the retail brokerage sector. He served as Vice President, Regulatory Enforcement and Litigation Counsel at Morgan Stanley for over a year following the investment bank’s landmark acquisition of E*TRADE.
Prior to the Morgan Stanley acquisition, he spent more than four years at E*TRADE, culminating in his role as Director and Associate General Counsel. There, he focused on retail-focused regulatory investigations while actively advising the firm’s product, operations, technology, anti-money laundering (AML), and marketing divisions.
McCormick began his legal career in the Washington D.C. Metro Area, spending more than six years as a Litigation and Enforcement Associate at Eversheds Sutherland, where he worked on arbitrations, civil litigation, and internal investigations.
