Scope Markets has promoted long-time executive John Murphy to Managing Director.

Murphy announced the move in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday, saying the appointment reflects a greater focus on the Scope Markets brand as the company continues to expand across different regions and client segments.

The executive will now lead the broker globally and oversee its strategy, growth, and overall performance. He will continue working as part of the wider Rostro Group, which owns the Scope Markets brand.

Murphy has been with Scope Markets and Rostro Group for more than three years. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at Rostro Group, a role he held from March 2025.

Before that, he spent just over three years as Chief Revenue Officer at Scope Markets, where he was responsible for sales, business development, and the broker’s expansion into new markets.

Before joining Scope Markets, Murphy spent almost eight years at OANDA, holding several senior sales roles. His final position at the broker was Global Head of Sales and Head of UK. He also previously worked at Alpari and FXCM.

In his LinkedIn post, Murphy said he was looking forward to the company’s next phase of growth and thanked clients, partners, colleagues, and the wider Rostro team for their support.

The promotion comes as Scope Markets continues to expand its presence across multiple international markets under the Rostro Group umbrella.
