Dancing Thai forex scammer caught in Indonesia

A former YouTuber, turned trading scam operator, has been arrested in Indonesia after more than two years on the run.

Suchata ‘Nutty’ Kongsupachak fled Thailand in 2022, after running a scam that is thought to have wound up with more than 6,000 investors losing around $60m.

Khongchak used to run a YouTube channel where she would film dance routines to pop songs. Her channel is still up and has close to 1m subscribers.

However, about two years ago she launched a separate channel called Trader Nutty and began promoting trading on her different social media channels.

The channel has now been taken down, but Khongchak was posting videos that look as though they involved binary options trades and promising massive returns. In one video title, which can be seen on old screenshots of the channel, she promises returns of over 100% in ten minutes.

According to the Bangkok Post, Khongchak was offering investors massive, guaranteed returns over short periods of time.

But in mid-2022, she stopped offering investors access to their cash and the money disappeared. She then went on the run, seemingly to Indonesia, where she was apprehended this week. She will be extradited back to Thailand.
