Hantec Prime, the institutional arm of brokerage group Hantec Markets, announced on Monday that it has hired Michael Nicholas as its new CEO.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michael as the Hantec Prime CEO,” said Nader Nurmohamed, Chief Operating Officer at Hantec Markets. “His commercial experience and deep understanding of institutional liquidity make him an ideal leader as we scale bespoke liquidity and connectivity solutions for sophisticated clients.”

In a statement, Hantec said that Nichols will manage institutional relationships, architect bespoke liquidity and execution solutions, and partner closely with product, technology and operations teams to deliver ultra-low latency connectivity, FIX API integrations and tailored execution services.

The new CEO is also being tasked with expanding the liquidity provider’s existing book of business.

Nicholas has worked in the online trading industry for over a decade.

Most recently, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Match-Prime Liquidity. Prior to that he was Head of Sales at Match-Trade Technologies, a technology provider which is part of the same group of companies as Match-Prime.

Nichols also worked at TopFX for close to three years, initially as Head of Institutional Sales. He was promoted after six months at the company and was then made Director of Institutional Sales.
