London-based firm IG Group has hired Ryanair executive Michael Healy.
Healy has been with budget airline operator Ryanair for almost five years, working as the company’s Commercial Director.
He was also Commercial Director at Paddy Power Betfair, a gambling business, for five years.
IG’s current CEO – Breon Corcoran – was with Paddy Power for over a decade, before becoming Betfair CEO in 2012. He was subsequently responsible for the merger of the two companies in 2015.
As reported on TradeInformer earlier this week, IG’s UK Managing Director Matt Brief is set to depart the company after almost 25 years with the firm.
The company has made several structural changes to the business over the last 12 months, following Corcoran’s appointment in January.
Some other long-time employees, including former Chief Operating Officer Jon Noble, have also left the brokerage group since then.
