The Head of Technology Risk and Control at London-listed broker IG Group has left the firm after almost two decades.
Amit Naker joined the company in 2007 as a Senior Test Analyst. He went on to become QA Team Leader and Incident Problem and Change Manager.
In 2014, he was made Head of Service Management and oversaw IG’s shift to offshoring much of its technology development.
This was initially in Belarus, where the founders of Capital.com helped develop IG’s mobile app, but ultimately moved to Poland. IG has also had IT development offices in India since 2007.
After several other promotions, Naker was ultimately made Head of Technology Risk and Control in 2020 – a role he held until his departure.
Long-time execs leaving IG Group
Naker is one of several executives to have left IG Group after a lengthy tenure, over the last couple of years.
Notably, Matt Brief, who headed up the company’s UK activities, left the firm at the end of last year after 25 years at the broker.
IG is going through some big changes at the moment, with the firm seemingly trying to evolve into the sort of ‘all in one’ platform that has proven popular with investors globally in the last decade.
For example, the company has added futures and options, crypto, and acquire share dealing broker Freetrade all in the last 12 months.
