IG Group’s long-time Trading Director has left the firm after spending almost two decades at the firm.
“As 2025 came to a close, so did my IG career, just shy of the 20-year milestone,” Blemings wrote in a social media post.
“It’s been a hell of a ride, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with so many talented people over the years, many of which I now count as friends, not just colleagues. I leave behind a brilliant team in Trading and Operations, who I am certain will continue to smash it.”
Blemings joined the broker in 2006, not long after the company had re-listed its shares following a management buyout.
During his time at the firm, he moved from working as a futures dealer to become head of futures trading. He was made Head of Trading in 2019 and then Trading Director in the middle of last year.
Blemings is one of several senior executives to have left the broker in the last 12 months. That includes the CEO of the broker’s Swiss entity, as well the company’s head of premium client sales.
