iSAM adds three new hires to trading team

Liquidity provider iSAM Securities has added three new hires to its trading teams in London and Florida.

James Gavin joins the London desk from Standard Chartered, where he spent five years on the bank’s eFX team. iSAM told TradeInformer that Gavin will be developing new products and growing the liquidity provider’s existing offering.

Richie Westerlind and Nathalie Bijlsma have also joined the liquidity provider and will be working from the company’s Florida trading desk. Westerlind has prior experience at Citi and the London Stock Exchange Group. Bijlsma has traded on her own account for six years but worked at ABN AMRO prior to that.

Changes at iSAM Securities

The three new hires fit with several changes made to the company since prior senior executives Jonathan Brewer and Raj Sitlani left the firm at the start of 2023.

That has included a rebrand form IS Prime to iSAM Securities and several key hires from the investment banking world, including Managing Director Samuel Johnson, who joined the firm from UBS in the summer of 2023, and eFX sales director Hannah Robson, who made the move in March of this year from Barclays’ investment banking division.

“The skill sets of our new hires align seamlessly with our core values; tech-driven solutions, quantitative expertise, and an unwavering client focus,” said Barry Flanigan, Head of e-Trading at iSAM. “With these foundations strengthened, we’re poised to enhance the client experience and navigate market complexities with a high degree of sophistication.”
