New retail broker Onyx Markets has confirmed that it will be going live in January.

The company made the announcement on social media on Wednesday.

Onyx will initially let clients trade in FX, indices, and commodities. The company will let clients trade via MetaTrader 5.

Onyx is operated by Onyx Capital, which is a major play in the oil derivatives trading and brokerage industry.

The company announced it was launching a retail offering in the summer.

Since then the firm has hired operations, sales, and dealing executives from a number of rival companies, including IG Group, CMC Markets, and SpreadCo.

Most recently, the company hired Tom Fawcett as its Head of Dealing. Fawcett was previously at IG Group for almost two decades.
