Retail brokerage group Tickmill has hired Erhan Beyaz as its new Head of Data and Analytics.
Beyaz will work in the broker’s main office in Cyprus.
The new Tickmill executive has six years of experience in the online trading industry.
He joined XM in 2019 as the brokerage group’s Data Analytics Manager. During his time at the firm he was responsible for developing data-based departmental KPIs.
Alongside that role, he was also responsible for developing different data science initiatives at XM, helping to improve the way in which data was managed and used at the company.
Beyaz left XM in 2021 and moved to rival brand Equiti. Initially working as a Senior Business Intelligence and Reporting Specialist, he was promoted to Head of Data Management at the brokerage group and held that role for over two years.
Before he joined XM, Beyaz worked in financial and data roles at different companies in the US, UK, and Cyprus. That included stints at US supermarket chain Walmart and its then-UK subsidiary Asda.
Beyaz also has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester.
Tickmill is somewhat unique among brokers of its size in having invested heavily in its backend data systems.
For example, the company previously employed Chartion Christou as its Head of Quantitative Research. Christou went on to found market maker and systematic trading firm Boltzmann Research.
