Brokerage group Titan FX announced on Monday that it has formed a partnership with ex-football player Keisuke Honda.
Honda will act as Global Brand Ambassador for Titan FX, with the player set to appear in the broker’s marketing material and across its social media channels in the near future.
The player will also feature in a new branded marketing campaign. Called ‘Dream Beyond Borders’. Titan FX said in a statement that the goal of the campaign is to highlight the power of dreaming big and taking action on those dreams.
“This is a significant moment for our company,” said Martin St-Hilaire, Managing Director at Titan FX. “Keisuke is a world-renowned Japanese professional footballer, coach, and entrepreneur, celebrated for his leadership both on and off the field. Beyond his illustrious sports career, Honda is a successful businessman and investor, having founded multiple ventures and investment funds focused on technology, education, and social impact across Asia and beyond.”
Big in Japan
Honda will be a familiar figure to any football fans. The now retired player had stints at AC Milan and CSKA Moscow. He also played close to 100 times for the Japanese national team.
Honda also has a big presence on social media today, with a likely skew towards Japan among his different channels.
He has almost 1m followers on Instagram, over 750k on TikTok, and more than 500k on Facebook.
Brand ambassador partnerships are a simple way for brokers to get access to markets, often via more ‘indirect’ marketing.
They can also be a good way of working on specific countries. Honda is obviously a good way of reaching the Japanese market, but we’ve seen brokers and props do similar things. For example, Olymp Trade partnered with Indian cricket player Shikhar Dhawan, presumably to reach more potential clients in India.
