Chicago-based retail prop firm Topstep has launched Topstep Brokerage, an introducing broker affiliated with the firm, marking an expansion into retail futures brokerage services.
Topstep Brokerage is the first introducing broker to allow individual brokerage accounts to be funded through the direct transfer of payouts earned from its retail proprietary trading programs, the company stated.
The feature enables traders to move capital earned in simulated or proprietary environments into personal accounts for live futures trading.
The brokerage operates in partnership with Plus500, which provides trading technology, risk management infrastructure, and futures commission merchant (FCM) clearing services. In November, TradeInformer reported that Plus500 was in talks to acquire the prop firm.
Topstep said the partnership allows it to incorporate established trading technology and clearing capabilities while focusing on trader education and platform design.
Through the arrangement, Topstep Brokerage clients will access futures markets using the TopstepX trading platform.
“For more than 16 years, it’s been our vision to create a better path for aspiring traders to learn, earn, and find greater success in the markets, whether trading our money or their own,” said Michael Patak, chief executive officer of Topstep Brokerage.
“Launching Topstep Brokerage is the next step in our commitment to deliver the Ultimate Trading Experience.”
Topstep Brokerage is designed to support traders transitioning from proprietary trading programs to independent trading with their own capital.
In addition to the direct payout transfer option, clients may fund accounts through traditional methods. The brokerage emphasizes straightforward pricing, defined trading rules, and integrated risk management tools.
Early access to the Topstep Brokerage waitlist opened on 27 January, The company expects the brokerage to begin live operations later this year.
Topstep Brokerage is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and is a member of the National Futures Association.
