cTrader AI agent

Technology provider Spotware Systems announced the launch of AI agents for its cTrader trading platform on Thursday. The new solutions are the first large-scale launch of AI agent-based trading tools for end users by an FX/CFD trading technology provider.

Called cTrader AI Agent Connect, the new launch provides a means by which traders can use AI agents to perform a range of tasks, like analysing their portfolio, setting up custom indicators, and executing trades.

“Trading is entering a new phase, where AI-powered agents are moving beyond simple question-answering and becoming active participants in how traders analyse markets and execute trades,” said Ilia Iarovitcyn, CEO of Spotware Systems. “At Spotware, we have always focused on staying ahead of industry change and building technology around the needs of modern traders.

“That is why we launched cTrader AI Agent Connect – a new step forward in trading platform technology. It gives traders a reliable way to integrate AI agents securely into their trading workflows, improve decision-making quality and automate much of the manual work.”

Power in traders’ hands

The new solution works by providing traders with two MCP servers. These are kind of like APIs for AI technology, acting as a means of connecting an AI platform with cTrader itself. They then give the AI context on what actions it can actually perform within the platform.

One of the MCP servers is remote, meaning it can be used to trade with cTrader’s web platform. The other is hosted locally by the trader and can be used to trade on cTrader’s Windows platform. Traders can also connect via all the popular AI platforms, like Claude or ChatGPT.

On top of this, cTrader AI Agent Connect gives traders access to a set of skills, which they can use to teach their AI what it can use the cTrader platform for.

The functions essentially make it much simpler to perform what would otherwise be manual or complex processes for traders. For example, you could use your AI agent to pull up pricing for the last 24 hours for a specific instrument or trade the markets based on a specific indicator.
However, as with all AI products, the limits of what can be done are more in the hands of the end user.

As ATFX Chief Strategy Officer Drew Niv noted in a recent Spotware Talks webinar, AI will give a lot more firepower to traders who are intelligent and sophisticated, but who previously did not have strong technical expertise with programming to build automated strategies. Let’s see what happens with cTrader AI Agent Connect.
