Trading technology firm TradeLocker has hired Alex Skolar as its Chief Product Officer.
Skolar, who is based in London, was most recently working in the same role at B2B investing technology provider Velexa. Brokerage group EXANTE acquired Velexa last month.
The new TradeLocker executive has worked in trading technology roles for three decades.
That includes stints at the London Stock Exchange, Thomson Reuters, and Merrill Lynch.
After leaving Reuters in 2017, Skolar joined Danish broker Saxo Bank, where he spent almost four years as a Director, overseeing the development of the company’s trading platform, SaxTraderPRO.
That platform, as the name suggests, is aimed at professional traders and institutional clients.
After leaving Saxo Bank in 2021, Skolar moved to ThinkMarkets, where he held a similar role, overseeing the development of the brokerage group’s proprietary trading platform.
TradeLocker has emerged as one of the more popular trading platforms on the market in the last few years.
The company is part of a wider group of businesses that includes prop firm FunderPro and payments business Deus X Pay.
