Brokerage group EC Markets has hired Nicholas Haralambos McGregor as its new Sponsorship and Partnership Manager.
McGregor joins the firm from United Rugby Championship, where he was marketing manager. United Rugby Championship is a yearly rugby tournament with teams from Scotland, South Africa, Wales, Ireland, and Italy.
Prior to that role, McGregor had also worked at rival brokerage group eToro. He spent almost three years at the Nasdaq-listed company, managing its various sponsorship deals.
That included stints as both Global Sponsorship Assistant Manager and Europe Sponsorship Manager.
EC Markets’ main sponsorship is with Premier League team Liverpool.
The company, which is owned by Chinese businessman Xiaoliang Lyu, signed a multi-year agreement with the club last year.
That has included some prominent branding rights, with EC Markets regularly appearing on the club’s pitch side advertising space during matches.
“I’ll be focusing on our partnership with Liverpool Football Club alongside a wider range of sponsorship initiatives,” wrote McGregor in a social media post.
“It’s a role that sits right at the intersection of sport, brand, and business, and I couldn’t be more excited by the opportunity. EC Markets is a team with serious ambition, and I’m looking forward to contributing to what’s being built here.”
