The Chief Strategy Officer of retail broker Capital.com has left the firm after almost two-and-a-half years at the business.

John Austin was one of several ex-IG executives to have joined the company over the last few years. He moved to Capital.com in December of 2023.

During his time with the brokerage group, he worked on the company’s dealing desk strategy and on growing the business as a whole.

Prior to Capital.com, Austin worked at liquidity provider LMAX for two years, where he was also Chief Strategy Officer.

The bulk of his career was spent with London-listed broker IG Group. He originally joined the company in 1997 and spent more than two decades with the firm.

Capital.com has seen huge growth over the last few years. Trading volumes on the company’s platforms rose to $3.42trn last year, up 92.1% from $1.78trn in 2024.
