German exchange operator Deutsche Börse generated €208.48 billion in combined cash-market turnover across its Xetra and Frankfurt venues in March, data published on Wednesday shows.
The figure was up roughly 24% from February’s €167.73 billion but only about 1.2% above March 2025’s €206.03 billion. March saw a recovery from February but remained largely in line with the prior-year run rate.
Xetra accounted for €202.76 billion of the total, with Frankfurt contributing €5.72 billion. Average daily Xetra trading volume rose to €9.22 billion from €8.13 billion in February, but remained below the €9.58 billion daily average posted in March 2025.
Equities made up €153.77 billion of the month’s turnover, while ETFs, ETCs and ETNs generated €52.15 billion. Bonds, certificates and funds combined for just €2.56 billion.
SAP SE was the most-traded DAX stock on Xetra at €11.80 billion. Deutsche Lufthansa AG led the MDAX with €1.43 billion, Verbio SE topped the SDAX at €209.41 million, and iShares Core EURO STOXX 50 UCITS ETF was the highest-volume exchange-traded product at €2.95 billion.
