IG Australia has launched a new ChatGPT integration that lets clients connect their trading accounts directly to OpenAI’s chatbot.

The broker says it is the first retail broker in Australia to launch a service of this kind.

Called “IG Trading: CFD Assistant”, the product is available through the ChatGPT App Store and allows traders to ask questions about their accounts using natural language prompts.

According to IG, users can ask ChatGPT to summarise open positions, review profit and loss performance, analyse risk exposure, and monitor sentiment across watchlists.

The broker also says traders can request pre-market briefings and analyse historical trading activity from inside ChatGPT itself.

Examples shared by the company include prompts like “Which markets on my watchlist have the most extreme client sentiment right now?” and “Show me my 10 best and worst performing closed trades from the last 3 months.”

The assistant pulls data directly from a client’s IG account.

Today’s launch comes as brokers increasingly try to position themselves around AI-powered trading tools and services.

IG’s announcement is also part of a broader trend across the retail trading industry. Capital.com and Trading 212 have both added AI-related features recently, while cTrader also launched its own AI product earlier this month.
