Digital asset manager Grayscale on Tuesday appointed Steve Vanourny as Head of Index, a newly created role at the Stamford, Conn. firm. Vanourny will report to CEO Peter Mintzberg and join Grayscale’s Leadership Team.
The role covers Grayscale’s index platform, index product strategy and lifecycle management across ETFs, private funds, on-chain wrappers and other structures. Vanourny will also manage the firm’s protocol relationships.
“As we continue to broaden and strengthen our platform, Steve’s experience will be invaluable in advancing the next generation of Grayscale’s investment products,” said Peter Mintzberg, Grayscale’s CEO.
Vanourny most recently served as Head of Product Development and Strategy at ProShares, where he led product development across one of the largest US ETF platforms. Earlier, he co-founded Continuum Capital Managers and held senior roles at State Street, including Global Head of Strategy and Global Head of Investment Analytics.
The appointment builds on an existing framework. The FTSE Grayscale Crypto Sector Index Series groups digital assets into six sectors, with FTSE Russell and Grayscale reassessing constituents quarterly.
Under Mintzberg, Grayscale has expanded its product set into covered-call income ETFs and broader crypto-sector strategies beyond core spot bitcoin exposure.
